Dalecarlian horse – We’ve always loathed looking like tourists. Truth be told, we are failed explorers, but always beyond contrivances, outside the scope of wayward Swedophiles. Rather than standing next to murals, we want to inhabit them; what do we seek? In our manner forward, some will retract, but what done is fulfilled. Don’t ever say vague. Know that we are on your side, and as much as we imagine your caress, we dwell on the fantasy of your kiss. Remember that we have known poverty – we will win your affluent heart. And here, in a false room, we are enveloped in the fragrance of their song. Love, X.

Australia is a loving farce. The opening harmonica sounds like a prelude, but it feels like we’re in the middle of the story already, past the point of no return, indulging in the few moments before consciousness kicks in. Tellus About the Moon piqued our curiosity from the first note, and through the chain of emotions that Australia elicits, we learn that we can flirt with hate and remain just as charming. And that’s why I’ll never, get that chance. And so the chant goes, because we all know what it is to feel, that the act of longing is really the vivid remembrance of that which you once held dearly in your hand. I want this so much. Surely these matters should only be near and dear to our hearts, but why hide the truth? Whether the guitars sway, ring, or chime to the tight embrace of a downstroke, through the din, Tellus speaks the truth in their tales. With each song disguised with melody, the truth becomes easier to digest, the listener soothed, the impact damped. There’s so much I want to tell you. All great bands told the truth, and today we find of no better example; thank you Nicklas, Simon, Michael, Jimmy, and Erik.

Dalahäst Records is a last gasp in this here barren landscape, this post-Space Age where we have nothing dear left but the exalted smoke plumes from technocracies racing towards singularity. There is no style in supply and demand, no art in mass distribution, no passion in economics of scale, and no heart in brazen consumerism. Where mediums of communications have been hijacked to profligate theft, Dalahäst will employ these to enjoy, share, and disseminate Swedish artistry in music and the visual arts. We are a long-distance collaboration between two Peruvian nationals, and a response to the unpursued epiphanies pervading our lives. We do not regret anything.
